”Hold the Light” means that we come here teaching you to hold the light of Jesus Christ for yourselves. We are passing on the flame that He has lit in our hearts, recognizing that it only grows bolder and brighter as we share it with you. Learn to hold on to it yourselves – to hold on to Him – and then pass it on to another.
“Hold the Light” is also a symbol of hope. We were not created to live in darkness. We were not created to live in fear. On our worst days, we will not have the strength to hold the light for ourselves. We will be stumbling through life and barely able to see, and we will need someone else to bear the light of Christ for us – to remind us who we are, to remind us who God is. We will do all we can to shine His light into that darkness for you.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
“The unfolding of Your words gives light“
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.”
“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.”
“…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
“…whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”
“Jesus said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
